Given the teachings of the Old Testament of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, versus the New Testament where Jesus preaches forgiveness and turning the other cheek, write a 2-3 page paper comparing and contrasting how we treat defendants within the criminal justice system.Is it more comparable to the Old or New Testament teachings?
To achieve maximum points for content and analysis, the following elements need to be thoroughly addressed.
Compare and contrast how we treat defendants within the criminal justice system.Specifically address the differences between whether we treat them more like Old or New Testament teachings.Focus specifically on the three basic fundamental methods: punishment, rehabilitation, and restorative justice within the penal system.
