you’ll pull out a sheet of paper (or two or three) and create a Chutes & Ladders style map of the main changes that occur during adolescence. Here’s what to have on your map, including at least 10 main changes & their descriptions:
Include descriptions of 3-4 developmental changes in the adolescent brain (like with the neurons, myelination, structural changes involving the corpus callous, the prefrontal cortex, the limbic systems and the amygdala, etc.).
Include descriptions of 6-7 types of cognitive changes that occur in the adolescent brain (like elaborating on the formal and post formal stages of cognitive development, reflective & pragmatic thinking, reflective & relativistic thinking, cognition & emotion, wisdom, processing speed, attention, memory, executive function, cognitive control, decision-making, critical thinking, creative thinking, etc.).
Include a description of social cognition that occurs in adolescence (adolescent egocentrism).
