CS305 Aging and Community Interview Paper

Interview Paper Assignment
CS305
Interview Directions: You will interview 1–3 people at your site, preferably people from the aging population. However, if that is not possible, you may interview supervisors or other volunteers who have been there longer than you (NOT your classmates). These interviews should be informal and discuss how your volunteering impacts the site. You do not need to record the interviews or write up a transcript; however, taking notes during your interview may help you with writing the paper.
Paper Directions: The paper should be between 3–5 pages total, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman font, and be divided into three sections:
1. Interview (1-2 pages) – Here you will write about the interview. I do NOT want a transcript of the interview, but rather, I want you to integrate and discuss the main points of your interview. Remember, the interview should be about how volunteers have impacted the site and the people you interviewed.
2. Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) (1-2 pages) – You will describe how ABCD relates to your site and what you are doing in it. Think of the ways your site utilizes members of the community and their strengths in order to organize and recruit volunteers.
3. Reflection (1-2 pages) – Finally, you will write a section reflecting on how you have impacted the residents at your site, and, in turn, how they have impacted you. You can utilize parts of your previous two sections in this one, but this section should be more of your reflections on the issues.
There is a grading rubric on Blackboard for your benefit, please use it to make sure you are incorporating everything. Remember the paper must be at least 3 full pages, but not more than 5 full pages.
